How Alishan began
Alishan Premium Fruit Wine started with people who know Australian bottle shops.
Contento Holdings brought together its experience supplying Australian retailers with almost two years of product development to create something new: a fruit wine collection with real fruit at its heart and a clear identity of its own.
The result is Alishan, a Contento brand crafted in Taiwan and supplied through our Melbourne wholesale operation.
Made from fruit, not flavouring
This isn’t fruit-flavoured wine. It’s made from fruit, naturally brewed in Taiwan, and you can read it on every label: water, fruit juice, sugar and yeast. Because it’s crafted from real fruit, natural settling may occur in the bottle.

The name: 阿里山
阿里山 (Ālǐshān) is the name of Taiwan’s mountain region, and 山 means mountain. It is a fitting name for a brand crafted in Taiwan.
It also travels well. In Hindi and Urdu, words that sound much the same mean grand, splendid and magnificent. We think that suits a premium fruit wine nicely.
